Trojans dropped in Edmonton
EDMONTON, ALTA., (Oct. 20, 2018) — The SAIT Trojans men's hockey team tasted defeat for the first time this season.
On the road in Edmonton, the Trojans were handed a 5-2 loss at the hands of the MacEwan Griffins in their Saturday night Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) battle.
"We played hard tonight; we just couldn't finish," said Trojans head coach Brent Devost. "When that happens, you tend to get a little frustrated, and they ended up taking it to us in the second half of the game."
SAIT falls to 5-1 on the year. MacEwan improves to 4-1-1.
Scoring on the night for the Trojans were Dean Allison (4th year, Surrey, BC, Bachelor of Business Administration) and Parker Evans-Campbell (3rd year, High River, Alta., Bachelor of Business Administration).
Responding for the Griffins were Cam Gotaas, Nicolas Correale, Kaelan Holt, Ryan Baskerville and Brett Smythe.
"We will look back on this game and review some of the things we need to get better at going forward," Devost added. "We're doing a lot of good things, but you're just not going to win every game."
The Trojans will look at get back in the win column on Nov. 2 and 3 when they host the Briercrest College Clippers for a pair of games – Friday night at 7pm, Saturday afternoon at 2pm.
