SAIT falls to Medicine Hat College
MEDICINE HAT, ALTA., (Nov. 1, 2019) - It was not a good start to the weekend for the SAIT Trojans women's volleyball team.
The Trojans won the first set, but dropped the next three as they fell 3-1 (24-26, 25-20, 25-18, 25-17) to the host Medicine Hat College Rattlers in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) game.
"The biggest thing was our first contact tonight," said Trojans head coach Art O'Dwyer. "Our serve and our pass, they just won that battle. . . We ended up being out of system way too much, and that allowed them to defend the ball and send it right back at us."
SAIT falls to 2-4. Med Hat jumps to 1-4.
Jadyn Leong (3rd year, Calgary, Business Administration) led the Trojans with 11 kills, while teammate Taryn Corkery (1st year, Ponoka, Alta., Bachelor of Business Administration) added seven kills and 16 digs.
The Rattlers were led by Brooke Christie's 12 kills.
SAIT and Medicine Hat will complete their weekend set Saturday night at SAIT at 6pm.
