Shooting woes doom SAIT
RED DEER, ALTA., (Oct. 25, 2019) - SAIT Trojans women's basketball head coach Bir Parmar did not get the effort he was looking for.
The Trojans fell to 0-2 on the season with a 67-46 loss to the host Red Deer College Queens in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) game played Friday night.
"We got more shots up than them. We got more free throws up than them, and we still lost," said a dejected Parmar. "We had every opportunity to win this game, but we found every way to shoot ourselves in the foot."
The Trojans shot a mere 22 per cent from the field in the game, and 14 per cent from the 3-point line.
"One mistake after another; just a complete game of mistakes," Parmar added. "I am pretty disappointed with that outcome."
Lauren Bailey (4th year, Calgary, Bachelor of Business Administration) led the Trojans with 15 points and seven rebounds. Kendal Russell (2nd year, Strathmore, Alta., Academic Upgrading) added 11 points.
Lauren Cardinal paced the Queens with 13 points.
SAIT will return to action next weekend with one game - Friday night at home against Ambrose University.
