Trojans can't catch a break, lose to Griffins
EDMONTON, ALTA., (Nov. 23, 2019) - The SAIT Trojans women's hockey team continue to be snakebit.
The Trojans battled and battled, but still found themselves on the short end of a 1-0 decision to the MacEwan University Griffins in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) action played in Edmonton. This loss comes 24 hours after the Trojans were beat 3-1 in a closely-contested game Friday night at SAIT.
The Trojans fall to 1-9 on the season. MacEwan jumps to 9-3.
The only goal of the game came in the second period when Breanna Golosky beat Trojans goalie Kaylin Schellenberg (2nd year, Calgary, Business Administration) halfway through the frame.
That would be all Schellenberg would allow, as she turned aside 42 shots in the loss.
Two-hundred feet away, Griffins goalie Natalie Bender stopped all 23 shots the Trojans fired her way to pick up the win.
SAIT resumes their ACAC schedule next weekend with a pair of games against the Red Deer College Queens.
