Trojans go three-and-out against Broncos
OLDS, ALTA., (Nov. 15, 2018) — It was an efficient night for the SAIT Trojans women's volleyball team.
The Trojans rolled into Olds, Alta., on Thursday night, and handed the host Olds College Broncos a 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-11) loss in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) battle.
"We were gritty right from the beginning," said Trojans head coach, Art O'Dwyer. "Balls we could have let fall, we worked to send back, making them run their offense again. I think that made a big difference right off the bat."
SAIT moves to 6-3 on the year, while the Broncos remain winless at 0-9.
Hayli Hinchey (5th year, Edmonton, Alta., Bachelor of Business Administration) led the way for the Trojans, posting a game-high 10 kills to go along with 20 digs.
Teammate Simran Dhami (5th year, Golden, BC, Bachelor of Business Administration) added four kills, three service aces and three blocks.
Karley Dieken led the Broncos with five kills.
The teams will finish their weekend set Friday night at SAIT at 6pm.
"I'm going to watch some video tonight and see if we can figure out something else to do to be even more productive," O'Dwyer finished.
