Trojans exact revenge on Broncos
OLDS, ALTA., (Oct. 26, 2019) - That's more like it.
After being beaten in their own gym Friday night, the SAIT Trojans women's volleyball team returned the favour a night later, winning 3-1 (20-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-22) over the host Olds College Broncos in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) action Saturday night.
"We made far less errors tonight, which made Olds have to play more," said Trojans head coach Art O'Dwyer. "We served well tonight, which put them in a bit of trouble. All in all, a good response to Friday's loss and something we can learn from."
SAIT improves to 2-3 on the season, while Olds falls to 1-1.
"We treat this as a process, and sometimes players can forget what you're trying to do and where it's going to get you," O'Dwyer added. "We have talked about be responsible to not only yourself, but to your teammates. Tonight was good, because people played responsibly and we received a good result."
Jadyn Leong (3rd year, Calgary, Business Administration) led the Trojans with 15 kills and 17 digs.
SAIT will return to the court next weekend when they meet the Medicine Hat College Rattlers in a home-and-home series - Friday on the road, Saturday at home.
