SAIT downed quickly by Lions
CALGARY, ALTA., (Nov. 8, 2019) - The SAIT Trojans women's volleyball team will look to put this one behind them as quickly as possible.
Playing in their second road game in as many nights against the host Ambrose University Lions, the Trojans were beaten 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-14) in an all-Calgary Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) contest.
After losing a heartbreaker in five sets on Thursday, O'Dwyer was anxious to see how his team would respond.
"Concerning," he said following the game. "Ambrose played better and exploited some of our weaknesses, and we just didn't adjust very well. That was the story of things tonight."
The Trojans fall to 2-7 on the season, while Ambrose moves to 5-4.
"I think we're all frustrated as a group," O'Dwyer continued. "We had a good conversation after where we discussed what are we going to do moving forward to be better."
SAIT will have next weekend off before facing another tough test in Briercrest College. The first place Clippers will host the Trojans for a pair of games - Nov. 22 at 5pm, and Nov. 23 at noon.
"We're going to be able to see where we're at," O'Dwyer said. "We've shown times where we can compete with most teams in this league, but it's a matter of if we can sustain that pressure because they're a team that plays at a high level the whole time."
