Trojan men dominate season's first Grand Prix
EDMONTON, ALTA., (Sept. 8, 2018) - The SAIT Trojans cross-country running team started their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) season on Saturday in Edmonton, and got off to a great start.
The Trojans men's team swept the podium in the 8-kilometre event hosted by the Concordia University of Edmonton, getting a first-place finish from last year's ACAC Male Athlete of the Year, Matthew Travaglini, a second-place finish from Jacques Saayman and a third-place showing from Brant Lauweryssen.
Matthew Hebert gave SAIT a fourth runner amongst the top-10, crossing the finish line in ninth place.
On the women's side of things, Ann Danard led the Trojans with a third-place showing in the 6km race.
Their next action will come on Saturday, Sept. 15 when they will head to south Calgary to compete in the Jordan Fish Memorial, hosted this year by St. Mary's University on their campus.
