Make Some Noise for Mental Health 2023
Make Some Noise (MSN) for Mental Health is an award-winning post-secondary intiative created by the Trojan Outreach Program in 2015 to promote mental health awareness on the SAIT campus. In 2016, the campaign grew to an Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) wide initiative, and is now endorsed by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) in Alberta. Also in 2016, the ACAC teamed up with RBC Olympians and Sheldon Kennedy to help boost the impact of the increasingly powerful MSN movement.
In its short history, the MSN campaign has been recognized nationally - winning the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Community Service Award (2015), as well as the Lieutenant Governor's Circle on Mental Health and Addiction with their True Imagination Award (2017).
For one month each year, ALL 17 ACAC institutions host on-campus events to increase the awareness and promote on-campus resources while breaking the stigma of mental health. Find out how you, or your group, can get involved by emailing david.miguez@sait.ca. The Trojans would like to thank Shannon Erwin for her immense work behind the Trojans 2023-2024 MSN campaign.
You too can help Make Some Noise for Mental Health and help break the stigma!
