Group Fitness & Instructional Recreation Opportunities
Trojans Athletics continues to explore and work around alternative venue options while the Taylor Family Campus Centre building is under construction. Limited Instructional Recreation and Group Fitness offerings are being offered in alternative spaces as we work around venue availability. Group fitness offerings will be posted and updated here.
- Classes do not run on Holidays.
- All classes are drop-in and free.
- All experience and fitness levels are welcome.
- Participants must be a current SAIT/ AUArts student or staff member with a valid SAIT ID Card.
- All mats and required equipment are provided, as availability allows.
WINTER 2025 CLASSES
Flow Yoga Classes at the SAITSA Peer Support Centre from 11am - 12pm and 12 - 1pm. Classes are currently limited to student registration only while held at Saitsa. Staff yoga classes will tentatively be scheduled in February 2025 at an alternative location.

Group Fitness - Zumba at Begin Tower, 11th floor from 4:30 - 5:30pm. Classes are open to active students and staff.

Previously available fitness classes included:
- Power Yoga: Build strength and indurance while enhancing flexibity, posture, and mental focus. Your instructor will take you through a series of yoga postures that will challenge you. This class is designed to burn more calories than other traditional forms of yoga.
- Zumba: This fun, Latin-inspired, dance party will burn calories, increase your heart rate, and boost your energy! No dance or fitness experience is required.
- Vinyasa Yoga: Otherwise known as Flow Yoga. Participants will be taken through a variety of poses which will strengthen core muscles. You will move from one posture to the next, using strength and breath.
- Yoga Essentials: This class is all about you! Improve your health and relax, while your instructor leads you through basic to advance yoga postures. Make sure to let your instructor know your level of experience and they will provide variations to meet your needs. Each class is different than the next!
- Pilates & Mobility: Participants will study their advancements in strength, flexibility, and concentration. Low-impact exercises will tone muscles and improve body mobility.
- HIIT- High Intensity Interval Training: Get ready to sweat! Your instructor will lead you through short bursts of intense workouts, followed by recovery periods. Boost your metabolism, build muscle, and have fun!
- Total Core: This 30-minute class will strengthen the muscles of your spine, abdomen, and pelvis. A variety of equipment may be provided to target your core muscles.
- Spin: This indoor cycling class will boost your cardio and improve your resilience. Control your own speed and resistance while your instructor leads you through a journey of climbs, sprints, and flat riding. Set to motivating music, this class is low impact, challenging, and fun!
- Full Body Workout: Find energy in every muscle group of the body. This full body bootcamp style class will take you through a series of funtional and cardio based movements.
