McCarthy, Massy named to ACAC All-Conference Team
CALGARY, ALTA., (March 20, 2020) – Two SAIT Trojans men's hockey players have been named Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) All-Conference selections.
Forward Colton McCarthy and defenseman Kevin Massy were each named as Second Team selections in an announcement made Friday afternoon by the ACAC.
The pair of fourth-year players led SAIT to a fourth-place finish in the standings, carving out a 13-10-2-3 record. When the ACAC called an end to the season on March 13 due to COVID-19, the Trojans were about to take on the NAIT Ooks in a best-of-three semifinal series.
For Massy (4th year, Victoria, BC, Bachelor of Business Administration), it is the rearguard's second consecutive season in which he has been named a Second Team All-Conference selection.
He put together his best season, scoring 28 points (5 goals, 23 assists) in 28 games.
McCarthy (4th year, Salmon Arm, BC, Geographic Information Systems) earns the award for the first time in his career.
Despite missing nine games, the veteran centre still put up an impressive career-best 35 points (9 goals, 26 assists) in 19 contests.
