Trojans go 1-1 in Medicine Hat
MEDICINE HAT, ALTA., (Feb. 22, 2020) - The SAIT Trojans men's and women's basketball teams split their Saturday night road games.
The Trojans took on the host Medicine Hat College Rattlers in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) action, with the men earning a lopsided 114-57 win and the women falling 58-43.
In the men's game, SAIT controlled the play from the first whistle. All 11 players on the game sheet scored in the game, with Talk Ross (3rd year, Orange Park, Alta., Business Administration) leading the way with 20 points and eight rebounds.
Josh Magpantay led the Rattlers with 19 points.
SAIT improves to 15-4, while Medicine Hat falls to 4-17.
In the women's game, the Trojans struggled to shoot the ball all game long, shooting just 26 per cent from the field.
Rachel Osczevski (3rd year, Rocky Mountain House, Alta., Nutrition for Healthy Lifestyles) led the Trojans with eight points and 13 rebounds.
Rattlers forward Katelyn Rozdeba recorded 20 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
SAIT falls to 5-14, while the Rattlers move to 11-10.
Both Trojans teams will wrap up their respective regular seasons next weekend with a pair of road games in Caronport, Sask., against the Briercrest College Clippers - Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
