SAIT doubled up by MacEwan
EDMONTON, ALTA., (Feb. 14, 2020) - The SAIT Trojans men's hockey team dug themselves a hole they could not claw their way out of Friday night.
The Trojans spotted the host MacEwan Griffins a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes en route to losing 6-3 to the three-time defending Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) champions in their contest played in Edmonton, Alta.
SAIT falls to 12-7-1-3 and fail to gain ground on the third-place Griffins, who move to 16-6-1 on the year.
Joseph Karpyshyn and Cam Gotaas each scored a pair of the goals for the Griffins. Bryan Arneson and Kole Gable added the others.
Replying for SAIT in the loss were Joren Patenaude (2nd year, Calgary, Bachelor of Business Administration), Mark Drohan (1st year, Calgary, Academic Upgrading) and Cory Santoro (3rd year, Kelowna, BC, Bachelor of Business Administration).
SAIT will look to earn a split of their weekend series Saturday night at home in a 7pm puck drop.
