Grusing leads Trojans past Clippers
CARONPORT, SASK., (Nov. 22, 2019) - Riley Grusing led the SAIT Trojans men's volleyball team to victory Friday night.
The third-year outside recorded 15 kills, as his team beat the host Briercrest College Clippers 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-21) in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) game played in Caronport, Sask.
"Riley is so sneaky good," said Trojans head coach Dallas Soonias. "He's so steady and efficient. He does things that high level opposites are supposed to do. As the game gets accelerated and the rallies get longer, you put the ball to Riley and 9 out of 10 times, he's going to do something smart with it. It's so nice to have him there."
SAIT's seventh straight win moves them to 9-1 on the season, while the Clippers fall to 5-4 with their third-straight loss.
Mark Anderson (5th year, Calgary, Bachelor of Business Administration) added 10 kills and three service aces in the win.
Bryton Codd led the Clippers with 12 kills.
The teams will wrap up their weekend set tomorrow at 2pm.
