Trojans cap off four-point weekend
LETHBRIDGE, ALTA., (Jan. 19, 2019) — It was about as perfect a weekend can get for the SAIT Trojans women's volleyball team.
One day after needing the bare minimum of sets to beat the Lethbridge College Kodiaks at home, the Trojans did the same on Saturday night in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) game played back in Lethbridge, Alta., winning 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-11).
"Friday night they did a good job of blocking us, but tonight we did a good job of using their block to score," said Trojans head coach, Art O'Dwyer. "We were able to run offense with a little more rhythm, and that put them in trouble."
SAIT sees their ACAC South Division record move to 13-5 on the season. Lethbridge falls to 2-14.
"You want to take care of business, and I think it helps our confidence," O'Dwyer said about the two quick victories. "Lethbridge is a very tough serving team, so it was good for us to work on our first contact."
No stats were made available from this game.
SAIT will have next weekend off before returning to action on Feb. 1 and 2 when they take on the Red Deer College Queens in a home-and-home series.
