Trojans dumped by Clippers
CARONPORT, SASK., (Nov. 22, 2019) - The SAIT Trojans women's volleyball team were not able to make a dent in the perfect record of the Briercrest College Clippers on Friday night.
The Trojans fell to the host Clippers 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 25-17, 25-15) in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) contest played in Caronport, Sask.
"If you give them a free ball, then they're coming at you," said Trojans head coach Art O'Dwyer. "I thought we showed a lot in that second set. We showed we can compete, but we just need a little more confidence and be more aggressive."
SAIT falls to 2-8, while Briercrest College moves to 9-0 on the season.
"Once we got down, we started getting a little tentative with our serve," O'Dwyer added. "And you just can't do that against a team like Briercrest."
Jadyn Leong (3rd year, Calgary, Business Administration) led the Trojans with 13 kills and five service aces.
The Trojans will finish their two-game road trip to Saskatchewan tomorrow afternoon at noon.
